final Rambunctious Ratio post

Task Description: this is the whole slide show about what  i have been learning about this week.

Ratio Sketchnote

Task description:  this is my  ratio Sketch note step by step.

Ratio Resolution

Task description: If have seen my prev is  post about ratio you would now that this post is about ratio but it is not practice. some question were hard.

Rambunctious Ratios 3

  Rambunctious Ratios

We are learning to use multiplication and division to solve proportion and ratios problems.

A prime number is: numbers that a time by itself and one

A factor is: numbers that times to make that number

A multiple is: like doing your times table 2 times table 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20

15 x 125 = 1875

Word problem of the week:
For every 8 girls in a school, there are 12 boys. If there are 120 students in the school, how many
girls and boys are there in the school?

Wicked word problems!

  1. It takes AL87 2.5 minutes to make 10 sausages for the sausage sizzle. How long will it take
  2. them to make 70 sausages?

  1. If 1 pack of raro makes 6 cups of drink, how many packs would we need to make 108?
                18  6x10=60 6x8=48  60+48=108

  1. If the ratio is 7:8 then is it ? 56 : 64   7x8=56 8x8=64

  1. If 4 loaves of bread feed 12 children for a week, how many loaves would 156 children need?

  1. If the ratio is 4:5 then it is also 48:60  4x12=48 5x12=60

Kahurangi delivered 245 Newspapers  to 7 local dairies. Each dairy got 7 more newspapers than
the other dairy. How many newspapers did they each get?  35 7x3=21 7x30=210 7x5=35
210+35 245

Jane shared 600 apples evenly among 25 students in Room 8. How many apples did each student get?
 25x 4= 100 100x6=600  4x6=24 25x24=600

Task Description: this is level 3 on ratios. We are learning to use multiplication and division to solve proportion and ratios problems. This work was really hard to work out but I just took my time and tried my best to solve it.

Ratio Practice

Task Description: this week we have been learning about ratio this is just practice about ratio.

Rambunctious Ratios 2

   Rambunctious
Ratios

We are learning to use multiplication and division to solve proportion and ratios problems.

Multiplication and Division Practice.

Work these problems out in your mind and discuss your strategies with your group. Show a couple
of strategies below, but the rest of the questions can just be answered

  1. 29 x 20 = 580         2. 33 x 15 =  495             3. 76 x 24 =  1824 4.   65 x 17 =  1104

      5.    72 x 15 =  1430 6.   33 x 16 = 528 7.   34 x 31 = 1054                      8. 42 x 26 = 1092

      9.   90 ÷ 30 = 3            10. 280 ÷ 40  =  7                 11. 300 ÷ 12 = 25             12.   625 ÷ 25 = 25

Word problem of the week:
For every 8 girls in a school, there are 12 boys. If there are 60 students in the school, how many girls
and boys are there in the school?   12 boys and 48 girls

Wicked word problems!

Solve these problems. Write down your strategies:

  1. Jermaine has 120 lollies to share between some  friends. How many lollies would each friend
get if there were 8 altogether?   30 8x3=12 and just add a 0 What if there were 16 or 24
people                                     16 people is 15 8x2=16 30/2=15 24 people is 5

  1. If the ratio is 2:8 then it is also  14 :56 2x7=14 8x7=56
  2. Task Description: this is the same as the last post but a little bit harder and this is level 2

Task description: we have been learning about adding dialogs in your stories.

Multiplication Magic

  Multiplication Magic
We are learning to use place value to solve multiplication problems using whole numbers.

Times table practice:
5 x 5 =  25                       7x7= 49
4 x 4=  16                         8 x 8= 64
3 x 3 =   9                       11x 11= 1221
6 x 6=    36                         5 x 4= 20
9 x 9 =     81                     10 x 10= 100

Factors of 16 = 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
,
Multiples of 8 = 8,16,24,32,40,48,56,64,72,80

A prime number is  = 1,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,21

25 x 25 = 625
20 x 25 = 500
5 x 25 =  125

25 x 245 =  6150
200 x 25 =   5000
40 x 25 = 1000
5 x 25 = 125

267 x 250 = 66750
200 x 267 =  53400
50 x 267 = 13350

Show your working under each problem:

1.  Mrs Flavelle orders 15 boxes of cookies for camp. If each box contains 18 cookies. How many are
there altogether?  15x10= 1500 8x 15= 120 1500+120= 1620

2. Mrs Tele’a orders 12 cans of beans for camp. Each tin contains 240 beans. How many individual
beans has she ordered? 12x 200= 24000 12x40= 480    24480

3. Room 4 is baking a rectangular cake for the garage sale. It is 22cm long and 16cm wide. What
is the area of the cake?  352cm

4. Marika has brought some lollies in to share with the class for her birthday. She has brought
14 packets which contain 32 lollies each. How many lollies are there altogether? 14x16 = 224
  224x 2 = 448 16x2 = 32

5. If each of the 160 students in team five paid 135 dollars for camp, how much money would
the camp make from our visit? 21600 because 160x 100= 16000  160x35= 10000

the young detective

The Young Detective

It had been three days since it had gone missing. One minute he had held it in his hand, the next it had vanished. How could it just have disappeared? It had been right in front of his eyes!
He had been warned about what would happen if he lost it. His mission had been to guard the key with his life, ever since they visited him last summer.
Adam had always had a detective’s instinct. They had told him as much. He had been chosen because he had certain skills, and he would need them more than ever now.
Only one clue had seemingly been left, which was sat on the living room table.
Holding the magnifying glass up to his eye, Adam began to investigate…
he asked himself where it was as he began looking for it. It was right in front of my eyes how I could have lost it. It was right there. I need to look for  it right now, said Adam.

He asked his dad if he had seen it. Dad replied no where was the last time you saw it
, it was right in front of me then somehow it disappeared. What !!!
I think there is something or someone in this house
“It is so creepy
“I am with you and we have nothing to be afraid of”
“We are detectives. We can detect who stole the key”
. “Ok dad”.

we can do this with your skills nothing can go past us wssssss as someone or something went past us
“ what was that “.
“I don’t know. It is ok it can’t get the best of us”.
“We make a good team and we can do anything”.
“ Ok first we have to find out why this thing what the key does it opens something amazing let’s  make sure that we find that thing before it opens something that we don’t know about”. Let's go and investigate said both of them
To be continued
